“The medium is the message,” as Marshall Mcluhan said in his book, Understanding Media, in 1964.
I still don’t know what the hell that means.
However, I do know, in 2018, “the media is the massage.”
According to Wikipedia:
McLuhan proposes…that a medium affects the society in which it plays a role not only by the content delivered over the medium, but also by the characteristics of the medium itself.
McLuhan frequently punned on the word “message”, changing it to…”massage…The title is intended to draw the attention to the fact that a medium is not something neutral, it does something to people, it takes hold of them, it roughs them up, it massages them, it bumps them around….”
I think most of us already know the so-called, “mainstream media,” MSM, massages truth into leftist lies. It seems to seek the debilitation of America — to destroy American traditions, law, and honor.
Leftist news is dribbled together from rewriting events mixed with glitz, special effects, and agenda. It’s fake, manufactured, and presented by multi-millionaire news readers with an ability to seem sincere. It’s show biz.
I know we already know that. We see through that.
Nevertheless, a leftist audience, half the populace, is enamored, indoctrinated, and very motivated by their news readers, entertainers, and celebrities. Deception and hyperactive scripting are powerful forces that create and drive reality and events.
According to McLuhan in Wikipedia:
News is information about current events…is also used as a platform to manufacture opinion for the population….
…Technological and social developments, often driven by government communication and espionage networks, have …influenced its content.
Where there is no real story, the viewership must be rendered less capable of grasping real information. The magical “characteristics” of TV accomplish this by the stupefying, wonder of slick sets, music, writing, instantaneous transmission, cgi, and dramatic cuts from scene to scene. Wow. This is like the movies. It’s indeed show business. Not news.
It’s how, TV, as McLuhan said, “does something to people….”
How does TV affect a viewer’s reality?
The so-called “MSM news anchor,” is like any actor — paid to convince the viewer that a make-believe script and story is real. That events breaking across the plasma screens of America are not fake, but genuine, and relevant to viewers themselves.
It’s marketing for audience share, via an action plan. But, we are to believe it’s reality — not a socialist-motivated agenda.
According to Jon Rappoport, It Works Like This:
The anchor: “Doctors at Yale University have made a discovery that could lead to new treatments in the battle against autism…”
Viewer: “That would be good. More research. Laboratory. The brain.”
If, at the end of the newscast, the viewer bothered to review the stories and his own reactions to them, he would realize he’d learned nothing. But reflection is not the game.
In fact, the flow of the news stories has washed over him and created very little except a sense of (false) continuity.
Therefore, every story on the news broadcast achieves the goal of keeping the context thin—night after night, year after year. The overall effect of this staging is: small viewer’s mind, small viewer’s understanding.
How could any of this actually affect the real world?
Most of us already know what “Trump Derangement Syndrome” is. We are not fooled by it. And yet it’s happening and powerful. We might have only had some national discontent and irritation with an elected Donald Trump. Even some sporadic “resistance.”
However, with a world-wide, unrelenting, media-driven hit-operation to wreck and depose him, we now have the insane “triggering” and rant of enough populace, that it cannot be ignored.
It would be hard to deny recent events, death threats, calls for assassination, and harassment in public places, were not directly caused by incessant crusades — news readers, entertainers, celebrities, and others.
The most minor event — through the magic of television — can be transmuted into Stereophonic, Earth-shaking significance. In Living Color.
If somebody in Poughkeepsie felt a grudge at low shower pressure, leftist news crews from all over the world would rush to the rescue — the headline, “Poughkeepsie Bleeds From Trump Water Cuts.”
As a result, various organizations might leap into action, demanding to know why Trump wants people in Poughkeepsie dead. The indoctrinated populace — some trained and paid by foreign billionaires — might react with marches or violence.
According to Jon Rappoport:
Since the dawn of time on this planet, news has been controlled, for good reason. It’s the source of supposed fact. Important objective fact. The people who own the news have therefore been able to paint an overall portrait of reality for the masses. Which has been their intent.
So what? Many already know this. They see clearly through the smoke. They are not fooled. They are wise and well-read. They know various powerful factions use news and entertainment to control and manipulate. Rachel Maddow weeps on camera; Don Lemon lifts a skeptical eyebrow; Supergirl calls Trump names. The world turns.
🗣 The point here is this: not everyone is as smart and grounded as those who see through the foul, Media-Entertainment-Axis ruse.
About half the populace runs in synch with this pack of socialist adventurers. Susceptible viewers are heavily influenced by theatrical deceit. And, in turn, they influence public opinion; politicians; powerful organizations; and, events — overt and covert.
Covert power in the FBI’s fist. That of the Deep State.
Overt power in a celebrity’s words. An entertainer’s principles.
The conservative right should not forget this. The right wing should never become complacent or confident in its own acumen.
Acumen helps, but alone it’s meaningless.
Your enemies vote. This is all they need do.
When I worked the streets as a private eye, we never thought how smart we were. We worried what the hell the other guy would do next.
The left doesn’t have to be smart. It votes.
